The Priority Inbox feature is a way of separating messages tagged as ‘Important’. On the Gmail website, the priority inbox shows important and unimportant messages in two sections on the same screen. However, because of the limited space on a phone screen, the priority inbox only gives a list of all the messages that are tagged as important and present in your Gmail inbox.
To access the priority inbox on your phone, swipe from the left-hand side of the screen. You’ll be presented with a list that includes all of your Gmail accounts, labels and inbox types. Tap on the Priority Inbox option and you’ll be presented with a list of your most important emails. Note that Gmail may need training to know which emails are important to you.
