Android KitKat brings with it a collection of great new features

since November 2013. HTC One S and One X devices won’t be updated, making these prime candidates for CyanogenMod ROMs sporting KitKat features. For Sony users, the entire 2013 Xperia range will be getting an update to KitKat, with the rollout having begun already. None of Huawei, Acer or ZTE have made any major announcements concerning updates, though Huawei’s Ascend P6 device has begun receiving KitKat updates. Asus (manufacturer of the KitKat-ready Nexus 7 tablet) has begun rolling out the new OS for several of its FonePad models. If you own an Android phone or tablet manufactured in the last two years, it’s most likely that an update is already out there, or will be in the coming months. Indeed, it shouldn’t be long before Android KitKat is available universally. The update takes place over-the-air with a wireless connection and introduces a wealth of new features, including the ability to start Google Now with the command “OK Google” from any home screen, and improved multitasking.
